Service Description

Target Skill Level: Basic TiD CEUs: 1 Presenters: Janet Roche and Christine Cowart Course Length: 1 hour This offering would address how trauma is often a pathway to criminalized behavior, and the real consequences of the prison environment on human biology, which results in lasting impacts on offenders. The offering will explore the known inequities in conviction and incarceration rates, the corresponding high rates of trauma in marginalized communities, all as a backdrop for the application of TiD. Topics will include applications for designing secure facilities, re-entry and treatment facilities, and other community-based spaces such as centers for restorative justice.


Cancellation Policy

In order to be eligible for a refund, cancellations of courses must be received prior to the start of the course. A credit, which may be used for other services or purchases from Trauma-informed Design Society, may be provided for enrollments cancelled after the course begins. Participants joining any live or synchronous event more than 15 minutes past the scheduled start time without prior notice may not be admitted to the session.
