The annual conference of the Texas Society of Architects featured a session on this project that I wanted to share with everyone. The team spoke beautifully about their Trauma-informed Design approach, and in addition to being deeply integrated with the care and service models, there are some excellent examples of specific design features.

In my opinion, the photos of this project do a better than usual job of communicating the principles, so I wanted to share and recommend in light of that as well.

I hope that they do more detailed case studies in the future.

I am currently working on a project in Tokyo, Japan, to create a safe space for ACE survivors.

I am using TiD to facilitate the design process and meetings, and I plan to compile a review of the design process sometime in September. I have also been conducting surveys among the ACE survivors who participated in the meetings, and the feedback has been very positive.

Once the materials are finalized, I plan to translate them into English and share them with everyone.

I'm an architect and haven't yet been able to take the course to get certified, though I have read the book and am aware of the TiD Principles. I'm preparing a response to a city RFQ for a Domestic Violence Shelter and am seeking to including some consulting time from someone who is TiD Certified.
